Share the Bear
A teddy bear is a symbol of the importance of a good night’s sleep in a child’s life and the safety and innocence of being tucked in at night. This past year we introduced Tuck, the mascot of A Bed for Every Child. With Tuck’s help, we launched the “Share the Bear” campaign to raise awareness for our mission to ensure every child growing up in poverty in MA has a bed of their own.
Tuck traveled the state encouraging others to “Share the Bear,” by taking a “selfie” with him and sharing it on social media to spread the word about A Bed for Every Child. Hundreds of people participated in “Share the Bear” and helped to raise awareness and much-needed funds for beds. If you don’t have access to Tuck, you can still take a selfie with your own favorite teddy bear, tagging @abedforeverychild #sharethebear.
Over the past year, Tuck has become a superstar and has had his photo taken with members of the 2017 Super Bowl Champions the New England Patriots, Mayor Marty Walsh from the City of Boston and Tuck even cuddle up with Miss Massachusetts. To see the many selfies taken over the past year, you can visit Tuck’s Gallery. If you’d like us to add your own #sharethebear selfie to our gallery, just email
The Share the Bear Campaign is just one more way that this past year’s worked continued to build visibility and support to ensure that the sustainability of the initiative continues to grow over the coming years.
Tuck is frequently on the move, making new friends and raising awareness for A Bed for Every Child. Check back frequently to see who he is visiting right now!
